The newest ad from Texas Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott attacks his opponent Wendy Davis by featuring criticism of her infamous wheelchair ad from establishment media sources. Called “Sen. Davis’ Campaign ‘Lost Cause’ After Disgusting Ad,” the ad makes the case that Davis has disqualified herself with the widely-condemned ad.

Among the media figures featured in the spot:

  • The Daily Caller’s own Tucker Carlson: “Speaking of ‘no shame,'” he says on Fox & Friends, “Have you seen this?”
  • MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki, first asking his panel if anyone will defend the Davis ad, and then calling it a “Hail Mary.” (RELATED: Even MSNBC Won’t Defend Wendy Davis’ Wheelchair Ad)
  • ABC’s Matthew Dowd on “This Week” saying the ad would only make things worse for Davis.
  • ABC political director Rick Klein calling the ad a “desperation move” on “On the Record with Greta van Susteren.”

The ad also features quotes critical of the former media darling from establishment media sources like Time, Mother Jones and The Washington Post, as well as critical quotes from the Texas Tribune.
