Esquire Magazine deemed Penelope Cruz the “sexiest woman alive” for 2014 early Monday morning.
The model and actress covers its November issue, wearing a black bathing suit, complete with plunging cleavage.
The 40-year-old is the 11th woman to receive the title, and past winners have included Scarlett Johansson (twice), Mila Kunis and Rihanna.
Cruz told Esquire during her interview that she used to feel seduced by drama in her life, but that passion is long gone now.
“I’ve made it hard for me sometimes, especially in my teens and twenties. I had an attraction to drama. Most of us have that, especially if you are an artist — you feel like you are tempted to explore the darkness. I could not be less interested now.”
“For me, the most attractive, charming, cool, fun, interesting thing — how could I call it? A plan.”
Cruz kept quiet about her personal life, opting out of discussing her recent marriage or their two children.
“That is for us.”
