The “Morning Joe” crew ripped on Sen. Kay Hagan Thursday morning for her inability to answer if President Obama is a strong leader in a straightforward manner.

When posed that question by NBC political correspondent Kasie Hunt, Hagan beat around the bush and ultimately did not give her a clear answer, saying he has not been a strong leader on some issues.

“Do you think President Obama is a strong leader?” Hunt asked the senator.

“President Obama has a lot on his plate,” Hagan started, “and it seems like whether it’s the oil spill that took place a number of years ago in the gulf, to this Ebola crisis now, to ISIS gaining strength. I mean you look at all the combination of things like that…”

“Do you think he’s acted as a strong leader?” Hunt asked again.

“With Ebola, we’ve definitely been late to the table making decisions on that, being sure that CDC understands and gets messages out to hospitals,” Hagan responded.

“So you don’t think he’s shown strong leadership?” Hunt followed up.

“Certainly there are issues I think on…no.”

Hagan is one of many Democrats that have decided to run far, far away from Obama, including Alison Lundergan Grimes, Michelle Nunn, and Mark Begich. She currently leads GOP challenger Thom Tillis by two points according to the latest RealClearPolitics average.

Co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough went on to mercilessly mock Hagan for her inability to answer the benign question on multiple occasions.

“There she goes again,” said Brzezinski.

“There she goes again,” she repeated, incredulously.

“There she goes again!” said a mocking Scarborough with a big smile on his face, throwing his hands in the air. “It’s just..It’s just..It’s just not…”

“They’re innocent questions,” added Brzezinski.

“…These are not hard questions to answer,” continued Scarborough. “But Kasie asks them in such a nice way. It was…wow.”

“With bullets in her eyes,” Brzezinski added.

“Sometimes the simplest questions are the toughest,” Hunt said, adding to the chorus.

“You are so mean, I can’t even believe it,” Mika facetiously told Hunt.

“She’s vicious!” Scarborough piled on.

“I’m scared. I’m looking at her, and my eyes are getting wide. I can’t even look at her,” Brzezinski joked.
