Conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham said on Fox News’ “On the Record” that liberals consider conservative women “second-class trash” and not “real women.”
Ingraham and host Greta Van Susteran were discussing a recent gaffe by South Carolina Democratic gubnatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen, who said in reference to Governor Nikki Haley that “We are going to escort whore out the door.” He later explained that he misspoke when he called the Republican governor a “whore,” but the pair noted that Sheheen laughed after saying it.
VAN SUSTERAN: Where are the women on this? Republican women? Democratic women?
INGRAHAM: Imagine if Rick Perry said something like that, or Scott Brown in New Hampshire. They would not let him get away with just, ‘Ha ha ha ha.’ They would say, ‘Why didn’t you shut down those people who were laughing? Why didn’t you say something about how they shouldn’t laugh? Why didn’t you pick up the phone and call Governor So-and-So?’
VAN SUSTERAN: I want to every woman who has used the mantra “War on Women” to stand up and defend Governor Nikki Haley. It doesn’t matter if she a Republican.
INGRAHAM: Conservative women– you’re smart– they aren’t really women to left wing ideologues. They are second-class trash because they collaborate with the enemy. The enemy happens to be conservatives or the Tea Party.
VAN SUSTERAN: Did he apologize to her?
INGRAHAM: I didn’t see it if he did, I missed the apology. Conservative women aren’t real women to the left. They don’t count.
