For some ungodly reason, the MLB got Aaron Lewis, the frontman from that terrible Nickelback-esque band “Staind,” to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the fifth game of the World Series Sunday night. Of course, he forgot the words in front of 41,000 people.

The 42-year-old from Massachusetts sang, “What so proudly we hailed were so gallantly streaming.”

However, the lyrics go, “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming.”

Look. He has a neck tattoo. If anyone is going to forget the words to the national anthem, it’s the guy with the neck tattoo.

Lewis later apologized, blaming nerves for the mishap and said he was “torn up” about the incident. Alas, don’t forget in 2011 Lewis made fun of Christina Aguilera for her rendition of the song.
