Michael Jordan Says He Wouldn’t Golf With President Obama

President Barack Obama is a hack, at least on the golf course, according to former NBA great and golf aficionado Michael Jordan.

The six-time NBA champion was asked to name his ideal foursome in an interview with Ahmad Rashad, a friend of Jordan’s who hosts a show on the golf-themed Back 9 Network.

“I never played with Obama, but I would,” said Jordan. “But nah, that’s OK, I take him out, he’s a hack. It’d be all day playing with him,” Jordan said.

“You really want to say that about the President of the United States?” Rashad asked.

“I never said he wasn’t a great politician, I just said he was a shitty golfer,” said Jordan, who reportedly golfs with a 3 handicap, indicating a scoring average in the mid-70s.

The only other person the former Chicago Bulls star included on his golf outing wish list was golfing legend Arnold Palmer.

Obama is not terrible at golf compared to the average person, though his critics would likely argue that he should be better at the game given that he’s played over 200 rounds since taking office.

“He strives to be a bogey-a-hole golfer; that’s a handicap of 18,” Don Van Natta Jr., a tracker of presidential golfing habits, told The New York Times recently.

Others have put Obama’s typical 18-hole score in the mid-90s.

Obama is also a notoriously slow golfer. According to The Times, a round can last up to six hours whereas the average golf outing lasts between four and four-and-a-half hours.
