Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney told “America’s Newsroom” that stocks may continue to rise if Republicans win the Senate in the 2014 midterms.

Fox’s Martha McCullom opened the segment by noting that though the stock market has rallied in the past month, “we could be seeing an even bigger rally if the GOP takes the Senate.”

Varney agreed, saying “The market thinks, the investors think if the Senate goes Republican maybe we’ll expand domestic energy production, build a pipeline for example. Maybe we’ll lower corporate tax rates and get some money coming back into the economy. Maybe we’ll get less regulation, so we can make more profit and we can grow the economy three percent to four percent instead of two percent.”

“That’s a rosy outlook, and to some degree that’s baked into the stock market already. In the last two weeks, the Dow has gained 1,000 points just as it looks like the Republicans are more and more likely to take the Senate.”

“Add it all up; the Republicans look likely to take the Senate,” he said, “A plus for investors.”
