Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker defeated Democrat Mary Burke Tuesday to win re-election to the governor’s mansion.

Fox News declared the race a Walker win just after 10:15 PM Eastern Time.

Walker started the day leading by only one point in a poll by Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. At the ballot box, Walker and Burke faced a significant gender gap. Exit polls showed Walker with 57 percent among men and Burke with 57 percent among women.

This is Walker’s third consecutive victory since winning the governorship in 2010 and defending his office from a union-led recall effort in 2012. Walker is considered a conservative prospect in the 2016 Republican presidential field.
