You remember Jim Leyland. He retired as manager of the Detroit Tigers in 2013, and currently serves as a special assistant to Tigers president & CEO, Dave Dombrowski.

What you probably don’t remember is that he has the voice of an angel, and we can safely assume that Leyland has been spending his newly found free time showing off his god-given talent.

A recent video posted by Deadspin shows the former skipper covering Toby Keith’s “Who’s Your Daddy?” at a Detroit bar, and he knocks it out of the park.

This isn’t the first time Leyland’s shown off his pipes on camera. Back in 2009, he shared a heart warming duet with Shelby Craig, a blind Detroit teenager. The pair improvised a stirring rendition of “God Bless America,” and it was magical. The duet begins at the 1:19 mark.

For the record, Leyland isn’t a one-genre pony. Here’s footage of his personal take on the Stylistics’ Motown-classic, “Betcha By Golly Wow.”

Here’s to hoping Leyland’s debut album goes platinum.
