“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough said that President Obama has so much disdain for cultivating relationships with Democrats on Capitol Hill that senators have called MSNBC in attempts to learn what the White House is planning.

“One of the things that we’ve all heard from so many people, and it wasn’t like six years in, it was like two months in, from the most senior Democrats, senators, on the Hill is, ‘He never calls. He never talks to us.’ Ask them a year later they will tell us, ‘I’ve been here for a year, he’s never invited me to the White House,'” Scarborough said Tuesday.

“I actually had a senator, and it happens quite a few times where senators will call us and say ‘What are you hearing over at the White House. What are they thinking?'” he continued. “And I’ll go are you kidding me?!”

“I’ve had those conversations,” noted Todd, the host of “Meet The Press” and author of the new book “The Stranger: Barack Obama In the White House.”

“Look, he’s a stranger to his own party!” Scarborough responded.

“There’s a few people he made relationships with,” Todd added, saying Obama has a great relationship with outgoing-Attorney General Eric Holder, whom he didn’t know when he began his presidency.

“What about on the Hill, though?” inquired Scarborough, a former congressman. “Can you name one close ally he has on the Hill?”

“No,” Todd responded flatly. “I’ll say this: I think Nancy Pelosi became their most trusted representative on the Hill simply because she delivered.
