Cpl. Ethan Laberge was on foot patrol in Afghanistan when a suicide bomber drove up near his group and set off a bomb, killing the two soldiers and seriously injuring Laberge. He sustained brain damage that left him with memory issues, and has undergone 10 surgeries this year.
“I had shrapnel that went through my foot into my left knee and I had a hole in the back of my left leg, I had a superficial wound above my right knee and I also had shrapnel that went into my arm, broke off the end of my radius, broke up a couple of bones in my wrist and essentially shattered my thumb,” Laberge said.
On the latest episode of the “Today Show’s” “Shine A Light” series, Jay Leno surprised Laberge by taking him to lunch in a brand new 2015 Dodge SRT Hellcat–and giving it to him.
