In Obama’s America, Adrian Peterson Just Can’t Win

DISCLAIMER: I do not approve of beating children.

Phew. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way … EVERYBODY NEEDS TO LAY OFF ADRIAN PETERSON!

In an interview with USA Today, Peterson said that, “he’s a changed man and vows to never, ever hit any of his children with a switch ever again,” and TMZ had an absolute field day.

The timing of the interview is VERY curious … considering NFL Commish Roger Goodell just ripped Peterson in a letter for having shown “no meaningful remorse” since the incident.

In a letter, which Goodell made public, the NFL Commish explained why he banned AP for the rest of the season without pay.

“You have shown no meaningful remorse for your conduct.  When indicted, you acknowledged what you did but said that you would not ‘eliminate whooping my kids’ and defended your conduct in numerous published text messages to the child’s mother.”

Goodell continued … “You also said that you felt ‘very confident with my actions because I know my intent.’ These comments raise the serious concern that you do not fully appreciate the seriousness of your conduct, or even worse, that you may feel free to engage in similar conduct in the future.”

So, the question now … you buyin’ AP’s new stance? Or is it just lip service to try and get back on Roger’s good side?

You blast him for doing wrong. You blast him for doing exactly what everyone says he needs to do to make amends. What more do you want from the guy? (RELATED: NFL PUBLICLY CRUCIFIES ADRIAN PETERSON)

This scandal is indicative of the hypocrisy embodying today’s NFL.

This whole thing isn’t even really about Peterson’s wrongdoings. It’s just Roger Goodell lobbing the liberal media a softball. He screwed the pooch with how he handled the Ray Rice incident, and Peterson is paying for the sins of the NFL’s conniver-in-chief.

The NFL gave AP the same punishment as Donte’ Stallworth — WHO FREAKING KILLED A GUY — but no one will come to bat for him because kids or whatever.

Look, I get it. Peterson made a big mistake. He’s paying the price, so cut the guy some slack.

Someone once said, “he who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone,” but, I guess, America doesn’t really listen to that guy anymore.
