In an interview with legendary talk show host Larry King, ex-CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson said today’s American media are “too swayed by the propaganda campaigns.” (RELATED: Sharyl Attkisson: America Is ‘Being Manipulated’ By The Media [VIDEO])

Your book is scathing about the state of American journalism,” King noted. “When we say the American media are you talking about; MSNBC or Fox or CNN or the New York Times or the National Review?”

“I think there’s a culture of journalism across the board that doesn’t apply individually to every single person, of course,” she responded. “But a general cultural change that occurred whereby we’re too often going along with powers that be whether they’re corporate interests, or political interests, or other special interests, we’re too swayed by the propaganda campaigns by the social media by the push back and there’s much less appetite to get out there and do great original and investigative journalism.”

“That’s been something I’ve commiserated with other investigative reporters about for a couple of years at conferences,” Attkisson continued, “It’s true in local news, it’s true in print, and it’s true at the other networks.  So I think there’s a big cultural change that’s happening.”
