In a BET interview scheduled to be aired on Monday, President Barack Obama said that racism was “deeply rooted” in American history and society.
“This isn’t going to be solved overnight,” Obama said, according to an advance excerpt, “This is something that is deeply rooted in our society, it’s deeply rooted in our history…” (RELATED: Mark Levin: Black Community ‘Miserable’ Under Obama And Holder [VIDEO])
Obama also repeats his claim elsewhere in the interview, as seen in a video released by BET. “When you’re dealing with something as deeply rooted as racism or bias in any society, you have to have vigilance, but you have to recognize that it’s going to take some time, and you just have to be steady.”
