Former Vice President Dick Cheney was on Special Report with Brett Baier to talk about the report Senate Democrats released detailing enhanced interrogation techniques used by the CIA in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. Cheney vigorously defended the administration of George W. Bush and the CIA, saying their actions were both legal and right.
At one point Cheney was asked about whether or not these techniques being used on Khalid Sheik Mohammad, the mastermind of the 9/11 attack, led to the thwarting of more attacks on US soil, something the Senate Democrats’ report says isn’t true, Cheney replied “The report is full of crap.”
Cheney apologized for the language, to which Baier remarked hey were on cable, so it was ok. Then Baier asked pointedly if the techniques revealed by Senate Democrats led to “actionable intelligence,” Cheney replied, “Absolutely.”
