Appearing on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” former White House Press Secretary and Fox News contributor Dana Perino said that Democrats did “long-term damage” to American security by releasing the CIA “torture report.”
PERINO: I think that the agency has a right to feel betrayed by the Democrats. And I don’t call this a Senate report, this is Senate Democrats. Imagine if anonymous Republican staffers had spent forty million taxpayer dollars on a report to trash the President in which they never talk to anybody involved in the program, where it’s been roundly ridiculed by people actually involved in the program…
And just remember, in the days after 9/11, the CIA was called to the Hill by both Republicans and Democrats—including Sen. Feinstein—and they were told, ‘Do whatever it takes to make sure this never happens again.’ Years later, after the CIA has been successful, they turn around and say, ‘We did not say to do that!’
I think that there’s going to be long-term damage for the Democrats to come on foreign policy and protecting the American people.
