Creed frontman Scott Stapp was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold at the end of November after he uploaded a video to Facebook saying he was broke and “living in a Holiday Inn by the Grace of God.” After he was released from the facility, his estranged wife Jaclyn called 911 because he was riding a bike shirtless and thought he was a CIA agent on a mission to kill Barack Obama.

During the 40-minute call, Jaclyn and her sister-in-law tell the dispatcher that Stapp was carrying 400-600 pages of documents detailing his plot, along with a wrench, screwdrivers and a hard drive in his backpack, TMZ reports.

However, Stapp also called 911, saying his wife sold his truck and that’s why he was biking.

From TMZ:

“When cops arrived Scott told them Jaclyn had pilfered $6 mil from him, and when he confronted her she decided to get him locked up. In the end, police determined Scott did not show enough signs of mental instability to warrant a psych hold.”

Stapp voted for Obama in 2008, the Rolling Stone reports, but said he would not do so again in 2012 because he was “disappointed” by the president.
