Hurdler Hottie Drops Some Tips For Avoiding Those Extra Holiday Lbs

Kristi Castlin is an American champion hurdler and is quickly emerging as one of the U.S. track team’s brightest young stars. Between Christmas dinner, cookies & just general snacking, Castlin has as much trouble staying in shape over the holidays as you and me.

There’s a lot of calories in just a single slice of roast beast

Luckily she shared with Deadspin a few helpful tips for avoiding packing on those extra Santa pounds.

1) Eat a healthy meal before hitting holiday parties. This will at least put a dent in your hunger while socializing. Nobody wants to be the guy, dressed to the nines, scarfing down forty pigs in a blanket.

2) Head straight to the bar. Having a drink in your hand, alcoholic or otherwise, is a great way to politely pass on hors d’oeuvres. “Oh coconut shrimp puff? Sorry my hands are full.”

3) Don’t be the last person to call it quits. You’re not in college anymore, so there’s literally no need for you to be shutting the bar down. Getting a proper night’s sleep is one of the most neglected parts of a healthy lifestyle among Americans, and you need to catch up on your Z’s if you want your metabolism to be running on all cylinders.

These three tips are pretty easy to stick to, and I’d definitely listen to what Kristi has to say. Based on her Instagram, she definitely knows a thing or two about staying fit
