Casey Kasem died in June at age 82, and he was finally buried on Dec. 16 with a small ceremony at a Norway cemetery after a bitter legal battle between his wife Jean and his children left the radio icon’s body in limbo for six months.
After his death, Kasem’s three adult children filed a police report against his second wife Jean claiming elder abuse, which the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating, because they said she removed him from the Berkley East Convalescent Hospital and took him on a multi-state car ride to keep him away from the rest of his family.

Kasem, who had battled Parkinson’s disease and dementia for years, developed an infectious bedsore that left him in critical condition, but TMZ notes an investigation will be difficult to continue now. (RELATED: Radio Icon Dead At 82)
“The decay and now the burial in a foreign land will make it virtually impossible for L.A. authorities to make a solid determination on whether the bed sores contributed to Casey’s death.”
TMZ reports that his children were not aware of his burial until Monday.
