Matthew McConaughey’s latest round of existential Lincoln ads set to premiere New Year’s Day include a McConaissance-style admonishment to drivers about hybrids — “it’s not about huggin’ trees” — it’s about finding the “sweet spot.”

“It’s not about huggin’ trees,” McConaughey says while sitting behind the wheel of Lincoln’s new MKZ Hybrid. “It’s not about bein’ wasteful either. Just gotta find that balance. Where taking care of yourself takes care of more than just yourself. That’s the sweet spot.”

Despite the seemingly never-ending late-show parodies of the ads that have featured McConaughey talking theoretical physics during a night drive in the MKC SUV, breaking the fourth wall while musing in the desert and attaining universal wisdom from a bull, Lincoln reports its sales rose 25 percent when the ads began airing in October, according to Time.

The second of the two new ads for the MKZ features the Oscar winner pulling back the roof for a post-rain night drive in the city.
