President Obama’s former “body man” is set to publish a new memoir revealing the time his boss walked in on him with a woman in bed.

Reggie Love, a former forward for the Duke Blue Devils, became Obama’s personal aide in 2007. After Obama was elected to the presidency, Love did much of the same work but his job title was elevated to “body man.”

During a 2007 campaign stop in West Palm Beach, Love invited a woman he knew from college to his hotel room. Love was out of bed by the time then-Sen. Obama came into the room, using a Secret Service master key.

“I remember the most peremptory of knocks, the sound of his voice talking even as he walked in…He was charged up, going a mile a minute,” Love wrote of Obama in the memoir, which was obtained by The Washington Post and will be released in February.

Love, who Obama once described as a “little brother,” continued:

“Hey, Reggie, we need to go over the schedule” — at which point the senator finally noticed my friend in bed, covers pulled to her throat, mortified.”

“Oh,” he said. “I apologize.” Then he turned around and hurried out.

“Was that?” she asked, face red.

“Senator Barack Obama,” I said sheepishly.

Love made light of the awkward encounter later in the day, telling Obama, “You know, sir, if it’s any consolation, I’m having the time of my life.”

“Well, Reggie, it’s actually not a consolation to me that my campaign for president can help subsidize your love life,” Obama said, drawing laughter from campaign aides Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod.

“Actually, sir, I got way more action in college,” Love responded.

“A round of groans rose up from the whole staff. If nothing else, I was providing a distraction from the gloom. I’d uncovered another facet to the bodyman role: that of court jester,” Love wrote.

Love has dished dirt on Obama in the past.

During an Aug. 2013 speech in Los Angeles, Love revealed what Obama was doing as U.S. Navy SEALS were conducting a raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound on May 1, 2011.

“Most people were like down in the Situation Room and [the president] was like, ‘I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing,'” Love said. (RELATED: Former Aide: Obama Played Cards During Bin Laden Raid)

“So he, myself, Pete Souza, the White House photographer, Marvin [Nicholson], we must have played 15 games of spades,” continued Love.

Love left the White House in 2011 to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Love’s tasks as Obama’s personal aide included scheduling and liaison work. He and Obama also frequently played pick-up basketball games.
