One nine-year-old boy will have some serious street cred on the playground.

Police in Post Falls, Idaho arrested a nine-year old boy for missing two court dates after allegedly stealing a pack of gum, USA Today reports.

Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh has said he regrets his office’s decision to issue the arrest warrant. Police say the boy missed his court dates because his family did not have transportation.

The boy was released from the juvenile detention center Jan. 9, the same day he was arrested, CNN reports. Police said they are unsure if the parents will face charges.

Prosecutors told KHQ that they weren’t sure when the boy would stand before a judge.

“Had we known that before the court date we would have provided something for the family,” Post Falls Police Chief Scott Haug told KHQ. “I wish we would have had more information that way we could have provided some sort of assistance.”
