The Washington Post has named a new White House Bureau Chief — it’s Juliet Eilperin.
Reporters appear to be pleased.
Philip Rucker is a national correspondent for WaPo.
Politico‘s Glenn Thrush gave her a thumbs up. “She’s terrific — congrats!!”
Mark Mellman, who runs a Democratic polling firm, remarked, “Congrats.”
Eilperin, who has worked for WaPo since 1998 and has covered Capitol Hill and the environment, was all humble pie.
“Granted @peterbakernyt still reigns as nicest WH bureau chief, I can only aspire to give him a run for his money,” she wrote, referring to NYT Chief White House correspondent Peter Baker.
