Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was on “The Tonight Show” Wednesday night and spoke with Jimmy Fallon about how they made a beer run together while at a party in 1996.
Fallon is filming the show in Los Angeles this week and with Bryant being out for the season with a torn rotator cuff, it was the perfect time for him to be on the show.
Bryant was a rookie during the 1996 season and Fallon had just moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a comedian.
They said they were at a party that ran out of beer and were asked to make a beer run. They went to a Pink Dot that initially didn’t serve them, but once Bryant pulled out his ID and said he’s a Laker they were able to pick up some beer.

Being a Laker definitely has its perks — Bryant was only 18 years old at the time.
