Sports Illustrated Swim has been slowly building up to this. Over the past five days, it has given us five bikini rookies.
And on the sixth day, Sports Illustrated gave us our 2015 cover girl.
Hannah Davis announced on “The Tonight Show” Wednesday that she snagged the cover, and though she may be pretty famous for dating Derek Jeter, she’s got a few other reasons why she’s so popular.
The 24-year-old has been in the edition the past two years, but has never landed the cover before, and as opposed to last year’s triple shot of Chrissy Teigen, Lily Aldrige and Nina Agdal, Davis has got it all to herself. (RELATED: Your Fifth Sports Illustrated Swim Rookie Is Something Else)
And we got a sneak peek at the cover, too.
The cover was shot at a blackberry farm in Tennessee, and even Davis didn’t know she had made the cover until Tuesday afternoon.
“I told my mom there was no way I’d get the cover,” Davis said after calling her mother. (RELATED: Kelly Rohrbach Is A Former Golfer AND SI Rookie)
“I told her ‘They do beaches for covers and I’m on a farm. There’s no way. It’s not possible.”
Davis didn’t expect to be on the cover, and said she would have been happy with just being in the edition.
“I’ve always enjoyed the whole Swimsuit experience, and said that anything extra—a little square on the cover or anything like that—was a bonus. But still, this was my dream.” (RELATED: This SI Rookie Is A Victoria’s Secret Model Too)
