Ami Horowitz, a Fox News contributor and self-described “right-of-center” American Jew, took to the streets of Marseilles with a camera crew to ask French Muslims their take on the recent Charlie Hebdo attacks.

Shockingly, many interviewees were open in their support for the ISIS-backed murders, while others blamed it on a conspiracy. (VIDEO: Eric Holder Blames Fox News For Concern About ‘Radical Islam’)

Among the responses:

  • “They did it because they defended their religion… They provoked the Muslim religion. They took care of it.”
  • “You cannot play with the religion, with the faith of people. Because some people, they really love the Prophet, and you cannot play.”
  • “It’s blasphemy! Oh yes, [the killing] is normal. There is no smoke without fire, as we say in France… They mocked, and they were warned.”
  • “I say it’s a government set-up.”
  • “Somebody who’s high up, with money. To buy weapons, finance travel, to buy lots of things, you need money. It has to be someone high up in the government. It has to be.”
  • [When asked if the Israelis could be behind the attacks] “It’s possible, yes, it’s possible.”
  • “It was probably sponsored by someone in the government.”
  • [Asked if the Jews were behind the attacks] “Probably, probably… Of course, it’s normal. You know what it is, their books? The Talmud? Us, the non Jews, we are called the Goy. They have the right to kill non Jews, to ‘rape’ them.”
  • [Asked whether there is a conflict between being French and Muslim] “Liberty, egalitarianism, and fraternity are not shared values.”

Bizarrely, at least one man being interviewed initially claims that it the attack on Charlie Hebdo was justified, only to later pin it on the Jews anyways.

Horowitz’ video is disturbing, but partially backed up by reporting by the Daily Beast, who reported in the aftermath of the attacks that some impoverished French Muslims they spoke to were defending the attackers, or blaming it “shape-shifting Jews.”
