Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett is known for his fierce intensity on the court. On Sunday, the 15-time All Star showed his softer side when he bought 1,000 tickets for fans — a gesture done in appreciation for their warm welcome of his return to Minnesota.

The tickets are for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. They were available to claim on a first-come-first-serve basis on Monday morning through the Timberwolves team website. The first 500 fans to claim were awarded a free pair of seats.

According to USA Today, the tickets were scooped up by fans in under three minutes.

Through a team-issued statement to ESPN, Garnett said that the support he’s received from T-Wolves fans since being re-acquired by Minnesota “has been nothing short of amazing” and “unbelievable.”

KG’s statement continued, “As a gesture of thanks, I would like to treat some fans to Monday night’s game against the Clippers. Love you all, and thanks for the love. Enjoy the game on me.”

A classy move by the future Hall-of-Famer.
