As part of its ongoing ‘7 Days of Genius’ series, MSNBC and its partner 92Y commissioned a survey asking Americans their thoughts on what constitutes genius.

During an interview with businessman and potential GOP candidate Donald Trump, MSNBC host Thomas Roberts revealed one amusing tidbit. (RELATED: New Poll Finds Scott Walker Has Biggest Lead Yet In 2016 Race)

“A survey was asked of people who they thought more was a genius… and you scored higher than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton with 29 percent,” Roberts said, “That is pretty encouraging if you think about the fact if Hillary Clinton were running for president, that people think you are a bigger genius.”

While Trump had only 29 percent of respondents say he was a genius, the Clintons’ numbers were even more paltry. Seventeen percent said Hillary was a genius, and 16 percent said the same of Bill. By comparison, NBA legend Michael Jordan at least managed to net 18 percent. (VIDEO: Jonah Goldberg: Donald Trump Is The ‘Bane of Humanity’)

“Well, I think that probably they got it right. You know, why not?” Trump joked. “But, look, Hillary, I know Hillary and she is smart. And I know Bill, he’s a smart guy, and I don’t know where they get the numbers, I don’t know where they get their polls, but certainly it is always nice to be mentioned in — with respect, and that is what they are showing there.”

The survey, conducted by marketing firm Edelman Berland, has a sample size of 2,043 and a margin of error of ±2.17 percent.
