Kent State guard Kris Brewer drove coast-to-coast and sank a buzzer-beating layup to down rival Akron 79-77 Friday night.
The ball was inbounded to Brewer, a senior, with just under six seconds left in the game. Brewer drove the entire length of the court and was able to get a layup attempt off right before the sound of the buzzer. The shot went in, and the Kent State faithful stormed the court.
As if a last second win over rival Akron wasn’t sweet enough, it was senior night at Kent State. The win also clinched the Golden Flashes a share of the Mid-American Conference title. Needless to say, Kris Brewer will never forget his senior night.
