Head coach Chip Kelly is doing his best to transform the Philadelphia Eagles into the Oregon Ducks 2.0.
Last week, Kelly traded All-Pro runningback LeSean McCoy to Buffalo for linebacker Kiko Alonso. The move looked to bolster an abysmal 2014 defensive unit, but many fans were perplexed why exactly the team had just shipped off its biggest offensive asset. Talking-head Stephen A. Smith appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” on Monday to offer up an explanation for Kelly’s decision, but his argument sounded vaguely familiar.
You’ve got to be kidding me, right?
If Kelly really is a racist, why is he about to sign former-49ers runningback Frank Gore to a 3-year deal with $7.5 million guaranteed?
Last time I checked — which for the record was literally a second ago — that guy’s definitely not white.
