Tennis stars Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov played each other in a wildly entertaining exhibition match at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
A highlight of the match came when Federer lobbed a ball over Dimitrov’s head. Dimitrov chased it down and hit a between-the-legs shot that landed behind Federer. Federer then chased Dimitrov’s shot down, and returned it with a between-the-legs shot of his own.
Phenomenal stuff from two of the game’s greatest.
Another bright moment in the match came in the third set when Dimitrov brought a young fan down from the stands to play a point. The youngster returned a nice serve from Federer, and the two rallied for a bit. The kid then hit a deep lob shot over Federer’s head, which he was unable to return, successfully scoring a point against the 17-time Grand Slam champion.
Dimitrov won the match 6-2, 1-6, 7-5, after rallying from behind to win the third set. The match didn’t mean anything, but it sure kept the large crowd at Madison Square Garden entertained.
