Months after airing an exclusive interview with the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden, Fox News announced Thursday the addition of Rob O’Neill to a contributor role with the network.

According to a press release, “O’Neill will offer military expertise and analysis across various daytime and primetime programs” for Fox, which has continued its ratings dominance to start off 2015.

“Rob O’Neill is an American hero who dedicated his life to serving our country and protecting our freedoms,” Fox News CEO Roger Ailes said in the statement. “It’s incredibly rare to have someone in a television contributor role with his leadership experience and expertise at the fighting unit level.”

“His military insight will be a major asset to the network and we are honored to have him,” Ailes added.

O’Neill was interviewed by Fox News’ Peter Doocy in November as part of a two-hour documentary, “The Man Who Killed Usama Bin Laden.” The documentary was a boom for the network, raking in nearly three million viewers, the highest hour of television for Fox News in 2014 (pardon the State of the Union and midterm election coverage).
