A college baseball player found out why it is often a bad idea for college athletes to use Twitter this weekend, after a mean tweet he sent about 13 year-old baseball phenom went viral.
Last week, The Disney Channel announced that it would make a movie about Mo’ne Davis, who, in August of 2014, became the first girl to ever pitch a winning game in the Little League World Series.
This news apparently upset Bloomsburg University’s first baseman, who took exception to the fact that her team lost to Nevada in a later round; which would have been fine, except he chose to tweet his thoughts.
Joey Casselberry deleted his Twitter account after news of his tweet spread, but this screengrab shows the tweet before he deleted it.

Reaction from the Bloomsburg University Athletic Department came swiftly and fiercely down upon Casselberry, who placed second on the team in hits before his dismissal.
Before deleting his Twitter account, though, Casselberry apologized for his ruining his own baseball career, writing in a pair of tweets, “An example that one stupid tweet can ruin someone’s life and I couldn’t be more sorry about my actions last night. I please ask you to.”
“Forgive me and truly understand that I am in no way shape or form a sexist and I am a huge fan of Mo’ne. She was quite an inspiration.”
