Cycling can be a deceptively dangerous sport.
Not only must riders take on fierce competitors hurtling toward the finish line at break-neck speeds, they have to battle the natural elements, and sometimes the elements win.
Take for example this past weekend’s Gent-Wevelgem race in Belgium, during which a rogue gust of wind decided to absolutely ruin Geraint Thomas’ day.

Despite that nasty spill, the Welchman rallied back and placed third in the final standings.
