Rebekah Gregory is a true inspiration.

The 27-year-old lost her left leg while running in the 2013 Boston Marathon. Although the bombing left her physically wounded, she has showed an enormous amount of determination in recovering from the horrific attack, culminating in running another marathon earlier this week.

According to her publicist, Gregory flew to Palmanova, Italy to run in the UNESCO Cities Marathon. Rebekah participated as a part of the Italian non-profit organization @uxilia team. What’s even more amazing is that Gregory painfully finished the race on her normal prosthetic, as airport security had confiscated her running blade.

Rebekah posted the following picture from the race to her Instagram account.

The picture was captioned, “Yesterday I ran in my first race since the bombing and even though I couldn’t get through the whole thing, the scenery of Italian countryside and the feeling of crossing the finish line….was absolutely incredible. (Next time I get blown up the terrorists should do a better job. They may have taken my leg but they have given me an insane amount of determination in its place.)”

Hear that, terrorists? You can’t keep America down.
