B.B. King was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital over the weekend after he had a diabetes-related emergency and remains at a medical center, TMZ reports.
The blues singer, who canceled his last eight performances of 2014 because of dehydration and exhaustion, was reportedly dehydrated. At a concert in April, King’s performance was so bad his reps issued an apology about it.
“The combination of the rigors of the very long drive and high blood sugar due to his medication error resulted in a performance that did not match Mr. King’s usual standard of excellence,” the statement said.
The 89-year-old has had Type II diabetes for over 20 years now.
