Bruce Jenner sees his upcoming two hour interview with Diane Sawyer as a “farewell to his male persona” that will mark the start of his life as a woman, a new report says.

This will be the first public statement about his reported transition to a woman, but the former Olympic athlete will not dress like a woman or reveal the new name he will go by, as previously reported.

He will detail his life and “journey” since age five.

“We’re told Bruce sees the interview as the most significant event associated with his sex change — more significant than the surgical procedures that will get him there,” TMZ reports.

Jenner, who was recently seen out in Malibu wearing red nail polish, is already well on his way to looking more like a woman physically. He allegedly had his Adam’s apple smoothed out, got a nose job and breast implants.

His interview with Diane Sawyer airs April 24 on ABC.
