Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul ate off the McDonald’s dollar menu Wednesday in order to most effectively use his campaign donations, which have been pouring in this week.

Paul released a Facebook video Wednesday in which he vowed to use his campaign donations wisely by hitting the dollar menu for lunch in New Hampshire. (WATCH HERE).

Paul has raised more than $900,000 since announcing his fundraising “money bomb” and even raised $24 per second during his campaign launch announcement.

When is the last time Jeb Bush ate off the dollar menu? Do you think Hillary Clinton even knows what the dollar menu is? I’ll bet Mitt Romney $10,000 that he’s never chowed down on anything that cost a dollar in his entire life. Heck, if a left-wing politician tried to do this the environmentalists and Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” soldiers would be coughing up their tofu in outrage.

As a frequent patron of the McDonald’s dollar menu, I applaud Rand Paul. I usually get two double-cheeseburgers and a large fry with no drink after work once a day, and that’s basically my diet. I live in the nation’s capital, and I’ve NEVER seen an elected official anywhere near McDonald’s while I’m getting my dollar menu items.

Some may call Paul’s video pandering, but it’s really not nearly as bad as uber-millionaire Hillary Clinton saying that she was basically broke after her eight-year stint as First Lady. Pandering should at least resonate with the things that people actually do. Let the rich kids in D.C. media “snark” all they want. Rand’s dollar-menu purchase was a good move.
