It doesn’t get much nerdier than this.
Today, Nate Silver, proprietor for ESPN’s 538 blog, has issued a sharp, stern, wonky warning against Ezra Klein‘s Vox blog.
STOP STEALING MY CHARTS!
Twitter nerds went sort of wild over the accusation.
Some standout remarks:
Kat Anon: “The Hillary Clinton chart made by 538 over the weekend was included at top of story by vox ~90 min ago.”
Adam Steinbaugh, online legal writer: “An explainer on how those charts ended up on our website: it saves money.”
Maco: “And they do it as *screenshots*! Fucking over users of screen readers, one article at a time.”
Anthony De Rosa, editor-in-chief, Circa:”I’ve asked @Max_Fisher about this about dozen times and he never responds cc @ezraklein.”
Incremus: “538 should make a map of maps that vox has stolen, for vox to steal.”
Sarcastic Southerner: “Can I get a map to where the data dork death match is happening? Vox, cite, or its shite.”
Patrick Howley, ombudsman, The Daily Caller: “It’s the @BuzzFeedBen model.”
Klein, who self-describes as a “lover of charts” and “head vegetable chef” on the masthead, has so far remained publicly mute on the matter.
The Mirror requested comment from Klein.
