Pamela Anderson went to prison on Wednesday, but not because she had committed any crime.
The former Playmate was doing time at the Maricopa County Jail with Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio to promote serving meatless meals to to inmates in order to save money and encourage health benefits.

The sheriff said the vegetarian diet has saved the jail over $200,00 per year, and they haven’t served meat in over 16 months.
So naturally, Anderson, a vegan, went to help serve lunch on Monday.
“There are a lot of people in prisons who are trying to improve themselves, and I think this is a wonderful opportunity,” Anderson said.
“We’re talking about putting gardens in prisons as well for people to grow some of their own food.”
