An envelope containing white powder was sent to the Capitol Hill office of Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Doyle, according to reports on social media.
A reporter for The Hill newspaper tweeted that Doyle, a Democrat, had evacuated from his Cannon House Office building office.
“They opened up an envelope and there was white powder in it,” the lawmaker told reporters.
Hazmat crews were on the scene Wednesday afternoon.
