President Barack Obama is issuing executive orders at the fastest pace of his presidency.

Last year Obama took more executive actions than in the first three years of his presidency combined, by one measure, and he’s surpassing that pace in 2015, reported USA Today. Several executive action announcements a week has become routine.

Obama dubbed 2014 the “Year of Action,” issuing 228 fact sheets — often the method used to announce and explain a new executive action. He’s on pace to surpass that number in 2015, with three more fact sheets issued this year than the same point in 2014.

On Earth Day this week, Obama issued a fact sheet outlining eight new executive actions to “protect the people and places climate change puts at risk,” such as designating a “National Park Week” and an initiative that will give 4th graders and their families free access to national parks for a year.

“Since the election, the president has had a pretty explicit strategy,” Brian Deese, a senior Obama adviser, told USA Today. “And it has consisted of trying to stay on offense, trying to push where he can to move the agenda through executive action. You’re going to keep seeing the president in that posture going forward.”
