Appearing on MSNBC’s online show “The Briefing,” former Republican Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore called on Hillary Clinton to drop out of the 2016 presidential race, saying she was unfit to lead after the Clinton Foundation donor scandal. (VIDEO: Romney: ‘Every Appearance’ Is That ‘Hillary Clinton Was Bribed’)

“I will tell you now Luke,” he said. “I think that as of today, this morning, I call on Hillary to withdraw from the race.”

“Really?” said host Luke Russert. “Why is that?”

“Because she can’t meet the necessities of what is going on right now,” Gilmore responded. “This is the story — Hillary Clinton’s foundation has, together with Bill Clinton, taken in hundreds of millions of dollars from overseas influences. She should never have been secretary of state under those circumstances.”

“Now the implication is that in fact that there was a connection between what she was doing and the money she was raising,” he continued. “We don’t know what those back-channel communications were. She could come forward right now and tell us what all those communications were — connecting to her job and the Foundation and her husband and all that– but she deleted the emails!”

“So you don’t think she fit to lead then at all?” Russert asked. “That she should drop out of the race?” (VIDEO: Clinton Foundation Caught Straight-Up Lying To New York Times Reporter)

“She should drop out of the race. And the reason is the people of the United States don’t have the confidence anymore in our democratic system. They think it’s all rigged, they think it’s all set-up, the think it’s all big money. She is the perfect candidate to continue that cynicism.”
