A new video on Facebook shows American Muslims reading the appalling reactions of their fellow citizens to a fire that destroyed an Islamic daycare in Florida.

The portable classroom used for a preschool by the Islamic Society of Tampa caught fire last week, causing significant damage, though nobody was harmed. After an article about the event was posted online, some people were willing to use their public Facebook accounts to made decidedly unsympathetic remarks. Peace House, a Tampa production company, took some of the tweets and produced a video of Muslims reading and reacting to them:

Muslims Read Hate Comments A daycare at the mosque burnt down. People commented their thoughts. You won’t believe the reaction to this tragedy.

“Let it burn!!!” declares Bob Shepard, a former firefighter and a Boy Scout leader in Colorado. In another comment, he joked “Bomb making class go wrong again??????”

“Burn them all down and deport them all,” read another comment.

“I was born here, where am I gonna get deported to?” asks one of the Muslims in the video.

Some posts even express a hope that the Muslims at the daycare would die. “I hope it was full of Muslim trash” says one, while another declares “time for a pig roast in Tampa.”

“Do they know it’s a building of a daycare? Like, kids?” asks another Muslim in the video.

The video was inspired by a recurring segment on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ in which celebrities read mean tweets about themselves.
