Brent Bozell, chairman of the conservative non-profit advocacy group ForAmerica, thinks Jeb Bush previously praising Hillary Clinton will “bury him” in the 2016 election.

Bush spoke at the Liberty Medal award ceremony at the National Constitutional Center in 2013, where he said, “I want to say thank you to both Secretary Clinton and to President Clinton. Thank you for your service to our country.”

In a statement released to promote a new ForAmerica ad criticizing Bush as “unelectable,” Bozell said, “Mr. Bush is unelectable and there are several better options for conservatives and Republicans if they want to win in 2016. Period.”

“By heaping praise on Hillary Clinton,” the activist continued, “Mr. Bush has handed her the ammo to bury him … and she will. No other potential GOP nominee has that fatal disadvantage.”

And that alleged “fatal disadvantage” is played up in ForAmerica’s ad. The one-minute commercial — which is set to air in early primary states such as Iowa — begins with a message stating, “Almost all Republican candidates understand Hillary Clinton would make a terrible president…” before showing several candidates — including Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio — bashing Clinton.

It then finishes the message’s sentence “…all except one.” That one, according to the ad, is Bush.

The video ends with the tagline, “Jeb Bush: Unelectable.”
