The U.S. Marshals office is auctioning 184,000 bottles of perfume — including the fragrances of “Intense Lust,” “Sexy Men,” and “Baby Phat Goddess” — that law enforcement officials seized in an international drug smuggling scheme.
The Daily Caller News Foundation obtained an inventory list for the seized perfume, and many bottles are definitely not appropriate for a mother’s day gift. The Marshals’ are accepting bids for the huge haul of fragrances, which sit on 415 pallets in Laredo, TX.
Thursday is the last day to bid.
Lynzey Donahue, a spokesperson for the Marshals, told TheDCNF the perfume was seized from Vikram Datta, a man arrested in New York for using a large perfume business to launder money from Mexico drug cartel operations.
Under asset forfeiture laws, authorities can seize and sell property they suspect is used in criminal activity, which is exactly what they did to Datta’s vast perfume stores.
The fragrance names include:
- “Nude” by Bijan
- “Seductive” by Guess
- “Intense Lust” by Sex and the City
- “717 Sexy Men” by Preferred Fragrance
- “Inspire Lust” by Sex and the City
- “Baby Phat Goddess” by Kimora Lee Simmons
- “Sex Appeal For Men” by Jovan
- “Just 2 Sexy” by 90120
- “Dream Angel Desire” by Victoria’s Secret
- “Sex Code” by Perfume NY Gear Inc.
- “Be Delicious” by DKNY
Whoever purchases the lifetime supply of sensual smells will have to pick the entire load up in Laredo, TX. The Feds don’t offer any help in transportation, which must be completed by May 27.
“They’re going to need to know what they’re getting themselves into,” Donahue told TheDCNF.
Donahue wouldn’t disclose the appraisal value or how many bids they have received.
Datta was convicted in January of 2012 and sentenced to 20 years of prison.
