At long last, Fox News announced that “The Greg Gutfeld Show” will takeover the 10 p.m. time slot on Sunday nights, with the show debuting on May 31st.

Gutfeld, who previously hosted FNC’s late night show “Red Eye,” will continue to co-host “The Five” during the week, along with his frequent appearances on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes made the announcement in a press release Thursday afternoon.

“Gutfeld is a distinctly versatile talent whose quick witted humor and gift for comedy writing will enable him to stand out in primetime on Sunday nights,” Ailes said.

According to FNC, the new show will be a “multi-faceted comedic hour” which will feature “parodies on current events.” In addition, frequent “Red Eye” guest and FNC contributor Joanne Nosuchinsky will also appear on the program.

“Every host of a new show likes to say they’re breaking new ground. So why should I be any different. This show will forever change the way you watch television, plus guests provide their own transportation,” Gutfeld said.

FNC had previously announced a new weekend show for Gutfeld in February, while “Red Eye,” which Gutfeld hosted since 2007, continues to be hosted by a cadre of FNC personalities.
