Canadian IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe was rushed to the hospital after being involved in a fiery wreck during Indianapolis 500 practice on Monday.
Last week, 3-time Indy 500 champion Helio Castroneves was also involved in an accident during practice, but his pales in comparison to Hinchcliffe’s.
WATCH:
Hinchcliffe was forced to undergo emergency surgery after a piece of the forward suspension shot through the cockpit and impaled both of his legs. After a successful surgery, Hinchcliffe remains in intensive, but stable care.
He is expected to miss the remainder of the season while recovering from his injuries.
