Janice Dickinson is suing Bill Cosby “for vindication” after his lawyer called her a liar when she alleged that the comedian drugged and raped her in the 1980s.
The 60-year-old filed the lawsuit for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress in a California Superior Court Wednesday.
Back in November, Dickinson accused Cosby of drugging her in a Lake Tahoe hotel room in 1982 before he raped her. Dickinson said she has not been “the same woman” since and suffers from “nightmares, nervousness and embarrassment.” After she made the allegations, Cosby’s lawyer said her story “accusing Bill Cosby of rape is a lie.”
“I’m suing Bill Cosby for justice and vindication,” Dickinson told “Entertainment Weekly” Wednesday.

“I was drugged and raped – drugged and raped – by Bill Cosby. And the fact that he and his spokespeople have called me a liar – referring to remarks that I’ve made – it’s just not correct. I want to fight this. I’m not being paid anything monetarily to do this, it’s just the right thing to do.”

“What sparked this lawsuit is Bill Cosby through his representatives calling Janice Dickinson a liar, and Janice is refusing to be re-victimized,” Bloom said.

“She alleges she was drugged and raped by Bill Cosby, and then re-victimized again when he called her a liar.”
Dickinson is seeking trial by jury and an unspecified amount of damages.
Over 40 women have accused Cosby of drugging them or sexually assaulting them in the past few months, but no criminal charges have been filed. (RELATED: Bill Cosby Rambles When Confronted About Rape Allegations)
