Appearing on “Morning Joe,” Jeffrey Sachs, the director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, argued that Hillary Clinton’s main problem in 2016 is the “mess” in Libya, which has turned into an ISIS hotspot.

Sachs was responding to questioning from co-host Joe Scarborough centered around an editorial in The Wall Street Journal, which slammed Clinton’s correspondence with “Secret Agent” Sidney Blumenthal.

“Jeffrey Sachs, a lot of concern about Sidney Blumenthal,” Scarborough told the philanthropist before being cut off.

“Not by me,” Sachs told the host. “I mean, I think there are a lot of other things to worry about. Not him. The Wall Street Journal doesn’t like Hillary. I don’t much like the Libya policy that they got us into. That’s the much bigger deal.”

“Look, I think this is not really the story,” Sachs said. “But you there is an important story about the Libya mess. How we got into it, why we have a completely destabilized country. So I think she has to answer for foreign policy. That’s where I would put the focus.”

“I think this is going to be a foreign policy election to an important extent, and there is a lot to discuss. A lot of real issues,” Sachs said. (RELATED: Jeffrey Sachs On Clinton Foundation: ‘There’s A Lot Of Money Sloshing Around’)
